Buying direct saves a trader’s margin, but you also take on “find factory, audit, follow-up.” Walk the process once; newcomers follow it to avoid pitfalls.

Standard flow

• Inquiry: send art + spec + qty + target price, get a scoped quote
• Sampling: pay sampling fee, get approved sample, check material/thickness/adhesive/color
• Audit (optional): capacity, certs, on-site management
• Contract: MOQ, unit price, mold ownership, lead time, inspection standard in writing
• Payment: common 30% deposit + 70% before ship / against B/L
• Logistics: EXW you find forwarder, or FOB/CIF factory arranges

Rookie pitfalls

• Unit price only, no basis: tax/MOQ/packaging unaligned, later add-ons
• Mass run without sample: wrong material wastes the whole lot
• No mold-ownership clause: recharged on reorder
• Full pay before ship: factory gone, no recourse
• Ignore certs: children’s goods held at arrival
