What Is Furong Foam? The Base Material Behind Puffy Stickers (PVC Foam Roll)

The short answer

"Furong foam" is the trade name for PVC foam rolls in the sticker industry — also called foamed sheet or pearl foam. It comes as white soft foam rolls, 0.6 to 2.0 mm thick, 1.45 m wide, 100 m per roll. Despite the name, it has nothing to do with skin or food — it is the base material of puffy sticker

Why puffy stickers use it

Because it is a polar material that runs on high-frequency welders. The HF field makes the material melt from within, and the same stroke cuts the edge — that is where the puffy 3D look and clean fray-free edges come from. Non-polar materials like PE and PP cannot be HF-welded and need a different process.

Choosing thickness: 0.6 to 2.0 mm

0.6-0.8 mm is thin — good for flexible, easy-to-store designs. 1.0-1.2 mm is the sweet spot: good puff, balanced cost. 1.5-2.0 mm is thick, maximum 3D effect for character stickers, but higher unit and shipping cost.
